Section 1: What is Golden Intellect?

Golden Intellect is an online marketplace which provides services to the customers (aka Business) and freelancers (aka College Students). We like to refer to customers as Golden and freelancers as Intellect. Definition of Golden is consisting of, relating to, or containing Gold. Definition of Intellect is the capacity for rational or intelligent thought especially when highly developed. Together they make Golden Intellect which is the platform where project owners (customers) post their projects or work requirements with specifications for required skills and/or University.

Freelancers can place a bid (apply) for the project and compete with other freelancers to win the project. The project owner (customer) selects the freelancer and sets milestones for the project. If the freelancer accepts the milestones, then he/she gets hired by the customer and the project will be assigned to that freelancer.

Golden Intellect provides services to the customer for sourcing college students. Additionally, Golden Intellect provides services to the college students to find best jobs (projects) based on their skills.

Golden Intellect also provides advanced workroom facility for having private conversation between customers and freelancers, file uploader facility and bidding module to better serve the freelancer.

Golden Intellect supports escrow system to provide fault free transactions between customers and freelancers. Admin acts as escrow and will be monitoring the entire process.

The main purpose of this website is to provide a niche market for the customers (businesses) and providers (college students) to work together without any geographical restrictions.

This User Manual is for giving guidelines about all functionality of the Golden Intellect website which includes all the information about dynamic pages, modules, features, sub-features and its functional capabilities.

Section 2: How do you Sign Up and Log-in?

Section 2.1: How do you Sign Up?

  • If you are a new user to the site and would like to receive access to some of Golden Intellect’s capabilities, you can either join via “Sign-Up” form or if the new user has an account with Facebook, Google or LinkedIn then he/she can use their Facebook, Google or LinkedIn credentials to sign up to Golden Intellect.
  • For the Registration process, there will be multiple open fields to be entered/completed by the user. By signing up, the user agrees to the terms of use (Golden Intellect user agreement and privacy policy) by default.

The field includes:

  • Select User type (Business or College Student): User has to select his/her user type for access to the services of the website accordingly
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email: Email will be used for account and projects (jobs) notifications
  • Contact Number
  • University (applicable if College Student)
  • Username
  • Password
  • Confirmed Password
  • Once all the fields are filled in successfully, the user needs to read the agreement and privacy policy.
  • Once all of the details are submitted, user will be notified that “you have successfully registered, please check your email to activate account”, for the verification process of user’s email account. A system (auto) generated mail will be also be sent to user’s registered mail account with activation link; by clicking on the link user will be able to login to the site successfully.

Section 2.2: How do you Login with Username and Password?

  • If the User is registered with Golden Intellect, the user can log into their account with his/her email. By clicking on Login the user will be redirected to login screen.

              There are two options for Users:

  • Remember Me Next Time: This option is used to remember User Email and password for future use; if user has checked this option then the system will remember their credentials for their next login.
  • Forgot Password: If the user forgets his/her password then the password can be recovered via the “Forgot Password” option. The below screen will appear where the user has to then enter his/her Registered email in the textbox.
  • Upon clicking submit successfully, the user will get a notification that “you have successfully requested for forgot password, please check your email”.
  • Once User has checked his/her email account and accessed forgot password link, user will be prompted to enter password and confirmed password. User will then be able to login with the new password through the login link.

The User will be able to login using his/her Facebook, Google or LinkedIn credentials as mentioned above.

Section 3: What does the Home Page Consists of?

The Home Page of Golden Intellect consists of the details to guide the users depending on their requirements. The details of the elements on Home Page are as follows:

  • On upper left corner: User will be able to see the website logo.
  • Upper middle: The User will be able to search for College Students if a Business and the College Students will be able to search for projects. The user has ability to toggle between Business and College Student. On clicking Search Icon, the user will be directed to respective Search Result Page.
  • Beneath Golden Intellect’s mission statement and photo, users have option of signing up as a consumer (Business) or freelancer (College Student) depending on the type of service he/she is interested in.
  • Explore Top Industries panel: This panel shows the top industries on Golden Intellect website. This panel includes the following details:
    • Industry image.
    • Industry name: It shows the industry name with link which can accessed by clicking on the industry name which will redirect the user to respective Search Result page.
  • How Golden Intellect (GI) Works: In this panel, details regarding the process for a Business and College Student is noted briefly. An interested Business can understand the process which is a) Posting your job for free b) Managing the work c) paying with ease and d) receiving a review. The Business can click on “Post a Project” to get started.
  • An interested College Student can note a) post your bid on a project b) manage the work c) get paid with ease and d) receive a review. The College Student can click on “Find a Project” to get started.
  • Featured Project Panel: This shows list of featured projects. This panel will include the following information.
    • Project Name: Project name is displayed with a link which will redirect the user to project detail page if clicked on.
    • Project Description
    • Posted Date
  • Static Pages: This displays the list of static pages such as About Us, Contact Us, FAQ, Feedback, How GI Works, Our Team, Privacy Policy.  

Section 4: What does the Business Dashboard consists of?

Section 4.1: What is on the Business My Profile?

After successfully logging in, the user will be redirected to his/her profile page; where the user will see the following information:

  • Username
  • Account Type: Business
  • Edit Profile (link): By clicking on the link, the User will be redirected to the edit profile page
    • About Me: This displays self-description about user

Section 4.1.1: Account Details

  • Total Spent: Total Amount spent by the customer
  • Completed Projects: This displays total Completed Projects by the customer
  • Ongoing Projects: This displays the total number of projects which are ongoing for the customer
  • Verifications
    • The verifications of the business for different social media are displayed in this section. The verifications are:
      • Facebook
      • Google
      • LinkedIn

Section 4.1.2: Projects: Open and Completed

  • The Projects which are added by the customer will be displayed in this section.
  • The tab named “Open” will have the added and open projects requested by the customer.
  • The tab named “Closed” will have the list of all the projects which the customer added but are now completed.

Section 4.2: Can a Business user Edit Profile?

  • There is a link for “Edit Profile” on customer’s profile page, by clicking on the link, customer will be redirected to edit profile page; from this page business can edit their personal details, notification settings, and upgrade their membership plan.

Personal Details: This tab facilitates the business to edit their personal details with following details

  • Business Name
  • Business Overview
  • Industry
  • Sub-Category

  • PayPal email: Business can add their PayPal Account ID

Section 4.3: What does Account Settings enable a Business to do?

Section 4.3.1: Manage Notifications

This tab facilitates the customer to change the notification settings such as:

  • Messages sent to me: On/Off
  • New milestones are created for your project: On/Off
  • A college student has edited his/her bid on my project: On/Off
  • A provider has placed a bid for my project: On/Off
  • A provider has edited milestones for my project: On/Off
  • Dispute has been closed with mutual agreement: On/Off
  • Dispute has been escalated to Admin: On/Off
  • Someone has added my project to their favorite list: On/Off

Section 4.3.2: Change Password

This tab facilitates the customer to change their business password. It includes following details such as:

  • Old Password: Business provides/enters old password
  • New Password: Business provides/enters new password
  • Confirm Password: Business provides/enters new password as confirmation

Note:

  • New password and confirm password should match with each other
  • After completion of all the changes, business can save all of the updated details and get notification for each updating section. For example, if business has updated their personal details then they will get a notification.

Section 4.4: What is My Wallet?

  • This page displays all account details of the customer and from this page, customer will be able to redeem the amount from the available balance. This includes the below details.

Section 4.4.1: My Balance

This tab displays details about customer’s amount with following information:

  • Available Balance: Amount of money in your account before adjusting for pending transactions.
  • Pending Amount: Amount of money in your account once adjusted for pending transactions.
  • Requested for redeem: Amount of money to withdraw.

This page has 2 Buttons to perform the following actions:

  • Deposit Fund: On clicking this button, a pop up will open where the user can enter the amount which he/she wants to deposit into their balance. The pop up will have the button “Deposit” on clicking which the user will be directed to PayPal where he/she can make the payment.
  • Redeem Request: On clicking this button, a pop up will open where the user can enter the amount which he/she wants to redeem from the admin. The user has to enter the amount and the description for redemption. On clicking “Submit” the redemption request will be sent to the admin and user will be able to see that amount in “Requested for redeem”

Section 4.4.2: Redemption Request

This tab shows the redemption records of the business. Business will be able to see the previously requested redemption requests and their status. Business will be able to see the following details:

  • Requested Amount: This displays the amount requested by the business
  • Requested Date: This displays the date on which the amount was requested for redemption
  • Description: The description added for redemption
  • Status: The status of the redemption request will be displayed here
  • Redeemed Amount: The amount redeemed from admin will be displayed here
  • Redeemed date: The date on which the amount was paid by the admin will be displayed here

Section 4.5: Tell me about Business Financial Dashboard

  • This page displays financial records of the customer based on each individual project. This page is divided into 2 parts: In Progress and Completed. The financial information for the projects will be displayed based on their state. The following details will be displayed:
    • Project Name: This displays project name
    • College Student Name: This displays the name of the hired college student for the project
    • Total: This displays the total amount of the project
    • Paid: This displays the amount paid by customer for the project
    • Outstanding: This displays the amount which is yet outstanding for the project

Section 4.6: My Providers

  • This page is divided into 3 sections:
    • Hired Providers: The providers which are hired by the business for their projects previously and currently will be listed in this section
    • Favorite Providers: The providers which are marked as Favorite by the business will be listed in this section.
    • Invited Providers: The providers which are invited by the business for their projects will be listed in this section

Section 4.7: What is “My Projects”?

This page lists down all the projects associated with the customer based on the status of those projects. The projects will be categorized as shown in the below image. The states of the project are in the order stated below.

Section 4.7.1: Open

When the project is posted, it is open for all the college students (providers) to place bids on the project. At this stage, the status of the project is Open. Open projects will be displayed in this tab.

When the Project is open, the customer will be able to see the following on Project Detail Page.

Section 4.7.2: Accepted

When the business has accepted the bid of any College Student, the status of the project will change to Accepted. Accepted Projects will be displayed in this tab.

The customer will be able to see the Bids placed by the College Students under tab named Bids. Business can choose to accept the Bid or ask College Student to modify it.

Once the business accepts the bid, the project will be visible under Accepted tab.

The College Student will now need to add the Milestones for the project.

Section 4.7.3: Milestone Accepted

Once the bid is accepted by the business, the college student will set the milestones. These milestones can be updated as per the requirement. Once the business accepts the milestone, the status of the project changes to Milestones Accepted. Projects whose Milestones are accepted will be displayed in this tab.

Business will be able to see “Accept Milestones” button on the Project Detail Page. In case of projects where escrow is required, if the business does not have the amount of the 1st Milestone in their wallet then he/she will have to deposit the funds first. Only then will the business be able to accept the milestones.

Once the Milestones are accepted, the workroom of the project will open. At this stage, the users will have facility to communicate with each other.

Section 4.7.4: Progress

Once the project is started, the status of the project will be Progress. During this stage, the workroom of the project will be opened, and the business and college student will be able to interact with each other. Projects in progress will be displayed in this tab.

Section 4.7.5: Completed

When all the milestones of the project are paid off and the review and ratings are added, the project is marked as Completed. The projects which are completed will be displayed in this tab.

Once the project is completed, the business will be able to add Review for the college student. Business can click on Rate & Review button to add a review for the college student.

Section 4.7.6: Dispute

When the dispute is raised for any project, the project is put on hold and the status of the project changes to Dispute. If the users have selected to have Escrow service, then admin will interfere to resolve the issue. Or else, the business and college student will discuss over it and agree to a conclusion. Projects with Dispute status will be displayed in this tab.

User will be able to Open the Dispute and escalate the dispute to admin from Project Detail page as shown below.

Section 4.7.7: Closed

Once the dispute is resolved in either parties’ favor, the project status will change to Closed. The Projects whose Status is Closed will be displayed in this tab.

For the disputed project, admin can pass a judgment upon which the project status will be charged to “Closed” as shown below.

              Once the project is closed, it will be visible under “Closed” tab.

Section 4.7.8: Reopened

Business has an option to reopen the project if required. If business does not find milestones comfortable, business can re-open the project for the providers (college students) to bid again. The project status will change to Reopened. All the reopened projects will be displayed in this tab.

Section 4.7.9: Expired

The projects on which the bids are not placed or not accepted beyond the last date for placing bids, the project status changes to Expired. All the expired projects are displayed in this tab.

When the Project is open, the business will be able to see the following on Project Detail Page.

Section 4.8: Post Project

The business can post a new project from this page. Posting a project is divided into 3 steps. The details of these 3 steps are given as follows:

Section 4.8.1: Step 1

The basic details about the project will be added in this step. These details are as follows:

  1. Project Title
  2. Industry
  3. Technical and/or Soft Skills
  4. University
  5. Project Description

Section 4.8.2: Step 2

The details regarding pricing and deadlines about the project will be added in this step.

These details are as following:

  1. Required Skills
  2. Budget
  3. Project Duration
  4. Bidding Deadline

Section 4.8.3: Step 3

In this step, the business will be able to upload related project files. Business will also be able to mark the project as featured. The details of this step are as follows:

  1. Attach File
  2. Mark as Featured: Here the business can select whether he/she wants to mark the project as featured or not. The user can enter the number of days for which he/she wants to mark the project as Featured. Based on the number of days, the total amount will be displayed. The user will click “Payment and Submit” to be redirected to PayPal for the Payment and then Submit the project.

Section 4.9: My Favorites

This page displays list of all projects and providers who are marked as favorite by the business. It includes the following details:

  • Customer Name

This page shows the list of all posted reviews by the business. This page shows the following information:

  • Date on which the review was added

By clicking on “sign out”, user will sign out from their profile and be redirected to home page

Section 5: College Student Dashboard

Section 5.1: My Profile

After successfully login, user will be redirected to his/her profile page, where user will get the following information:

  • Username
  • Account Type: Provider
  • Edit Profile (link): By clicking on the link, user will be redirected to edit profile page
  • Received Ratings
  • Elevator Pitch: This displays self-description about user.
  • Account Details:
    • Total Earned: Total amount earned by the college student
    • Completed Projected: This displays total Completed Projects by college student
    • Ongoing Projects: This displays the total number of projects which are ongoing for the college student
  • Reviews and Ratings
    • College student Name
    • College student Image
    • Received Review and Ratings
  • Verification
    • Facebook: User can click “Verify” link to verify his Facebook account
    • Google: User can click “Verify” link to verify his Google account
    • LinkedIn: User can click “Verify” link to verify his LinkedIn account

Section 5.2: Edit Profile

  • There is a link for “Edit Profile” on business’s profile page, by clicking on the link, college student will be redirected to edit profile page; from this page college student can edit his/her personal details, notification settings and upgrade the membership plans.

Section 5.4.2: Redemption Request

This tab shows the redemption records of the college student. College student will be able to see the previously requested redemption requests and their status. College student will be able to see the following details:

  • Requested Date: This displays the date on which the amount was requested for redemption
  • Description: The description added for redemption
  • Status: The status od the redemption request will be displayed here
  • Redeemed Amount: The amount redeemed from admin will be displayed here
  • Redeemed Date: The date on which the amount was paid by the admin will be displayed here

Section 5.4.3: Credit Changelog

This tab shows the credit transactions of the college student. College student will be able to check the following details:

  • Credit Amount
  • Transaction Date
  • Description

Section 5.5: Financial Dashboard

  • This page displays financial records of the college student based on each individual project. This page is divided into 2 parts: In Progress and Completed. The financial information for the projects will be displayed based on their state. The following details will be displayed:
    • Project Name: This displays project name
    • College Student Name: This displays the name of the hired college student for the project
    • Total: This displays the total amount of the project
    • Paid: This displays the amount paid by the college student for the project
    • Outstanding: This displays the amount which is presently outstanding for the project

Section 5.6: Membership Plans

  • To place a bid on the Projects, college students would need Credits in their account. The credits can be purchased in bulk by purchasing a membership plan. The Membership Plan will have the following details:
    • Number of credits
    • Prince of the plan for a month

College students can buy the plan to add the credit in their accounts so they can place bids for the projects.

  • Ad Hoc Credits: The Freelancers can buy ad hoc credits based on their requirement. The price for one credit will be displayed under per unit price. The user can enter the number of credits he wants to buy and can proceed to make the payment for them.

Section 5.7: My Projects

  • This page lists down all the projects associated with the college students based on the status of those projects. The projects will be categorized as shown below image. The states of the projects are as follows:

Section 5.7.1: Open

When the project is posted, it is open for all the providers to place bids on the project. Once the provider places a bid on a project whose status is open, that project will be displayed in this section.

He/She will be able to see “Place Bid” button on the Project Detail Page.

Provider will have the option to “Edit Bid” until accepted by the college student. Once the Bid is placed, he/she will be able to see it under Open Projects.

             

Section 5.7.2: Accepted

When the business has accepted the bid of any college student, the status of the project will change to Accepted. Accepted projects will be displayed in this tab.

When the project is accepted, the college student will have to add the Milestones.

On clicking Milestones, user will add the Milestones in the divisions that sum up to the exact Bid Amount.

Once Milestones are submitted, college student will be able to see Edit Milestones option until the Milestones are accepted by the customer.

 

Section 5.7.3: Milestone Accepted

Once the bid is accepted by the business, the college student will set the milestones. These milestones can be updated as per the requirement. Once the business accepts the milestone, the status of the project changes to Milestone Accepted. Projects whose Milestones are accepted will be displayed in this tab.

  • Progress: Once the project is started, the status of the project will be Progress. During this stage, the workroom of the Project will be open and the business and college student will be able to interact with each other. Projects in progress will be displayed in this tab.

The college student will be able to communicate with the business once the status of the project is “Progress”.

Once the milestone is attained, the college student can request for its approval from the customer.

Once the same is confirmed by the business, the amount for the same will be transferred to freelancer’s wallet.

Section 5.7.4: Completed

When all the milestones of the project are paid off and the review and ratings are added, the project is marked as Completed. The projects which are completed will be displayed in this tab.

 

Section 5.7.5: Dispute

When the dispute is raised for any project, the project is put on hold and the status of the project changes to Dispute. If the users have selected to have Escrow service then Admin will interfere to resolve the issue. Or else, the college student and the business will discuss over it and come to a conclusion. Projects with Dispute status will be displayed in this tab.

User will be able to Open the Dispute and escalate it to admin from Project Detail page as shown below.

 

Section 5.7.6: Closed

Once the dispute is resolved in either parties’ favor, the project status will change to Closed. The Projects whose status is Closed will be displayed in this tab.

Section 5.10: My Reviews

This page shows the list of all posted reviews by the customer. It shows the following information:

  • Provider Name
  • Provider Image
  • Review posted for the project
  • Posted Review
  • Date on which the review was added

Section 5.11: Sign Out

By clicking on “sign out”, user will be able to sign out from their profile and redirected homepage.

Section 6: Messages

This section provides messaging functionality to both the users (businesses and college students). Users will get messages regarding any new updates for their projects in this section.

  • This tab contains all the incoming messages with details such as:
    • Username (Sender name)
    • User Image
    • Message
    • Date
    • Time

Section 6.1: Search result page for projects

  • This page provides facility to the users to search any listed projects as per the following considerations
  • User has facility to search any project by entering related keywords in textbox
  • Filter options for Projects
    • User can select the project category from dropdown
    • Once user has selected industry from dropdown, a user can select technical skill.
    • User can select the Soft Skills and University to filter the project from
    • The filter to choose the required experience level for the project
    • User can set the range of budget for the project to narrow down their search result
    • User can select the featured check box to view the featured projects

Section 6.1.1: Search result information

This shows the following project information:

  • Project name
  • Project owner name with link: by clicking on link, user will be redirected to customer profile page
  • Estimated budget
  • Total no’s of bids placed
  • Job status
  • Posted date
  • Short description
  • Industry
  • Technical Skills
  • Soft Skills
  • Option to add the project to Favorites by clicking on heart symbol.

Section 6.2: User profile page (Business)

Users as visitors and logged in users are both able to search for a customer and view customer’s profile page but they are not able to “Edit” any details.

This page includes the following information:

  • Username
  • Account Type: Business
  • Edit Profile (link): By clicking on the link, user will be redirected to edit profile page
  • About Me: this displays self-description about user

    • Completed Projects: This displays total Completed Projects posted by the customer
    • Ongoing Projects: This displays the total number of projects which are ongoing for the business.
  • Verifications
    • The verifications of the customer for different social media are displayed in this section. The verifications are:
      • Facebook
      • Google
      • LinkedIn
  • About Me
    • The description given by the User will be displayed in this section.
  • Projects: Open and Completed
    • The Projects which are added by the customer will be displayed in this section.
    • The tab named “Open” will have the added and open projects by the customer.
    • The tab named “Closed” will have the list of all the projects which the customer added but are now completed.

Section 6.3: Search result page for Provider (freelancer)

  • This page provides facility to users to search for any providers as per the following considerations.

  • User has facility to search any provider (freelancer) by entering related keywords in textbox.
  • Filter options for Provider
    • User can select the provider category from dropdown.
    • User can select the provider sub-category from dropdown.
    • User can select skills from the filter to search the providers based on their skills
    • Providers can also be filtered based on their work experience.
  • Search Result information: This shows the following project information
    • Provider profile image thumbnail
    • Provider name with link: By clicking on the link, user will be redirected to provider profile page
    • Provider Location
    • Description
    • Skills
    • Job Statistics: Jobs Completed and Jobs in Progress
    • Member Since Date

Section 6.4: User profile page (Provider)

Users as visitors and logged in users both are able to search for providers and view provider’s profile page but they are not able to “Edit” any details.

The page displays the following information:

  • Provider Name
  • Provider profile picture
  • Average Star Ratings
  • About Me: this tab displays short description about provider
  • Personal Details
    • Account Type: Provider
    • University Name
    • Member Since
    • Last Sign-In
  • Skills: This displays skills of the provider with ratings set based on their expert level
  • Skill name with ratings (based on provider’s expert level)
  • Feedback (star ratings): This includes specific feedback criteria with ratings for the user (provider) then the feedback criteria includes clarifying specification, work on time, reliability, etc.
  • Based on the criteria, customers provide feedback ratings accordingly after successful completion of the project (job)
  • Account Details
  • Total earnings amount: this displays the total earnings amount of the provider
  • Jobs Completed: this displays the total jobs completed by the provider
  • Send Message: Only logged in users can send message to the provider
